TAM named Best Airline in South America for the second consecutive year
Farnborough International Airshow, England - For the second consecutive year, TAM Airlines has been named the winner of two major categories at the Skytrax “World Airline Awards”. TAM was named "Best Airline in South America" and "Best Airline Staff in South America”. The 2012 awards were announced on 12 July during the Farnborough International Airshow.
Manoela Amaro, TAM’s marketing director, acknowledged the recognition of passengers and stressed the importance of the award to the airline: "Repeating the feat for a second year in a survey as important as that undertaken by Skytrax, involving more than 18.8 million passengers from over one hundred and fifty countries, and involving more than 200 airlines, is proof that TAM is on the right track, and continues to work to offer an unforgettable travel experience to its customers."
Skytrax has been organizing the "World Airline Awards" since 1999, defining the winners from its annual survey of passengers from across the world. It is considered one of the most important aviation and travel industry awards and is held in high regard for the clarity of process and rigorously applied rules of independence. Between July 2011 and May 2012, the survey was conducted through a variety of resources - such as an online survey, focus groups, questionnaires and telephone interviews.
