HALEIWA, Hawaii, USA; BRUSSELS, Belgium; VICTORIA, Seychelles – On Friday, the Executive Board of the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) met informally at the Le Meridien Hotel in Victoria, Seychelles, hosted by ICTP Executive Board member and Seychelles Minister of Tourism, Alain St. Ange, with ICTP Chairman Juergen Thomas Steinmetz from Hawaii, and President Professor Geoffrey Lipman from Brussels attending. Feisol Hashim was excused due to health reasons.

The ICTP Board was pleased with the rapid expansion of the organization and confirmed the need for an organization to assist their members with green growth and quality.

The Board also agreed to make the organization a spokesperson for people in tourism and bring people and destinations together.

The Board agreed to make the Seychelles home base for the International Council of Tourism Partners. Offices and staff will be established within the facilities of the Ministry of Tourism. Second home bases in Haleiwa, Hawaii, and Brussels, Belgium, will remain.

The Board pointed out the importance of partnerships and to include members of organizations and destinations, as well as private stakeholders, as people that can further the mission of the organization.

The Board agreed to develop a closer cooperation and agreements with members including ITB Asia, Routes, RETOSA, and SKAL. The Board also pointed out the importance of including sponsors to make the alliance sustainable.
