In an effort to increase its global footprint in Africa, Turkish Airlines just launched services to Abidjan. Known as the gateway to West Africa, Abidjan is the main port and largest city along the Ivory Coast.

Flights from Turkish Airlinesโ€™ Istanbul hub will depart for Abidjan four times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays) with a connection in Accra.

As of July 4, Abidjan joins one of more than 200 destinations Turkish Airlines currently flies to, including direct, non-stop flights from its four U.S. gateways, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C. In April 2013, Houston will become the fifth U.S. gateway flying direct to Istanbul.
