New Miss Seychelles to become face of the country
Twenty-year-old Sherlyn Furneau was crowned Miss Seychelles…another world 2012 last Saturday night at Le Meridien Barbarons Beach Hotel in the presence of a sold-out function.
She was crowned by the Seychelles First Lady, Nathalie Michel, after the panel of judges, made up of Seychellois and international personalities, had made their choice.
This is the first year that the Seychelles Tourism Board has taken over the pageant to elect their beauty queen who would be mandated to represent Seychelles at the Miss World Contest and at the Miss Southern Africa Pageant.
Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, said as she launched the evening to elect Miss Seychelles…another world 2012 in the presence of Mrs. Nathalie Michel, the First Lady of Seychelles, and Ministers Alain St.Ange, Peter Sinon, and Edith Alexander, that Miss Seychelles…another world 2012 would become the face of Seychelles for the coming year and that with the Tourism Board standing behind the annual pageant, more doors would now be opened for the young Seychelloise.
A packed agenda is now in place for Sherlyn Furneau before she travels to China for Miss World 2012 Pageant.
