World aviation and tourism event attracting registrations at record pace
The appeal of a world aviation and tourism conference with a focus on Africa, taking place in Seychelles, is attracting participation at a fast pace.
Thirty-eight people registered in just over a week since the registration of the event officially opened, which will be held in the tourist paradise of the Seychelles. The Routes Administration has said that it is seeing an average of 10 to 15 registrations per week and more coming in every day,
Nigel Mayes, Vice President & Commercial – Routes at UBM Aviation Routes Ltd. in Manchester in the UK, has confirmed that the following have now already confirmed their participation at Routes Africa 2012 - Aeroport de Lome-Tokoin, Aeroportos de Mozambique, Aeroports du Mali, Air Seychelles, Arik Air Ltd., Astral Aviation, Bangalore International Airport, Copenhagen Airports A/S (CPH), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Entebbe International Airport, Etihad Airways, Expreso, Frankfurt Airport, Ghana Airports Company Limited, Insight Media Ltd., Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen International Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport, Malaysia Airlines Cargo, Mega Maldives Airlines, Nasair, Qatar Airways, Rwandair, Saudi Arabian Airlines, South African Airways, Tanzania Airports Authority, and Turkish Airlines.
It must be highlighted that many of the registered airlines and airport authorities have 2 and even 3 delegates traveling to Seychelles for Routes Africa 2012 in Seychelles. At the INDABA Tourism Trade Fair in Durban South Africa this week Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, accompanied by Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Gerard Brown the Routes Development chaired a press conference on Routes Africa 2012. They also held meetings with individual African ministers, airlines, and airport authorities to raise the profile of the airline convention being held in Seychelles this July.
“We are happy with the response, and we can now safely say that Routes Africa 2012 will be a success,” Minister St.Ange said at INDABA 2012 in Durban South Africa.
