Saudi archeological exhibition coming to America this year

The events of the exhibition of the “Saudi Archeological Masterpieces through the Ages” has just ended its fourth leg in the Pergamon Museum, Berlin, Germany, which lasted for 64 days from January 25 this year.

The exhibition is scheduled to visit the United States of America at the end of 2012, where it will be hosted by 5 different museums throughout the country.
The exhibition during its past leg in the Pergamon Museum had a remarkable turnout by visitors, where it was visited by around 160,000 people, who were acquainted with its relics that reflect the ancient cultural dimension of the kingdom that complements the other well-known dimensions of the kingdom – the economic, religious and political dimensions.

The exhibition has also contributed in the introduction of the kingdom’s ancient civilizations that had played part in the kingdom through the ages, in addition to highlighting the kingdom’s historical and cultural roles. The large number of visitors has reflected the media’s great attention towards the exhibition, especially that Arabia is unknown by many.

The exhibition also played a great role in highlighting the cultural dimension of the kingdom, which is reflected in several remarks coming from a number of prominent officials and specialists in antiquities, who commended the exhibition and stressed its importance in presenting the culture of the kingdom to the Germans.

Director of Pergamon Museum, Michael Eisenhower, said, โ€œThe exhibition was one of the most successful exhibitions that have ever been hosted by the Pergamon Museum.โ€ He further referred to the great scientific importance that distinguishes its relics, which reflect the great cultural role that the kingdom played, and it still is playing, regionally and internationally. The exhibition also was a tremendous opportunity to Germans and foreign tourists to take a closer look at the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to know more about its ancient history.

Noteworthy, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz President of SCTA, along with Klaus Wowereit, Mayor of Berlin, had inaugurated the exhibition of the “Saudi Archeological Masterpieces through the Ages” in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, in Germany on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.
