China and Seychelles forming lasting bonds through tourism

Mr.

Mr. YongAn Cui, the Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the China International Friendship & Culture Festival, is leading a delegation of officials of his association, accompanied by a Chinese cultural group at the 2012 Carnaval International de Victoria, which is being hosted in Seychelles by two islands of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands group – Seychelles and La Reunion.

Mr. YongAn Cui and his official delegation made time to meet with Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and his Deputy, Elsia Grandcourt. Different topics of cooperation were discussed as they met at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Hotel & Casino. HuanHuan Lee from the Seychelles Beijing Tourism Office and Stephanie Lablache, a Marketing Executive at the Tourism Boardโ€™s Head Office, were also part of the Seychelles delegation at that informal meeting at Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Hotel.

The Chinese delegation is also on an inspection trip to choose a hotel and a local handling company (DMC) for a special group of 50 couples traveling to Seychelles this June to get married on the islands. They will be visiting Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue islands as they search for the ideal hotel to host their group. Seychelles is now known in China as one of the most sought after island destinations for weddings and honeymoons.

On Friday, the delegation will join the carnival celebrations and witness for themselves the carnival staged under the banner of the melting pot of cultures.
