The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) has just recorded a live forum on the coming March 2 carnival in the Seychelles for a nationwide viewing this week. It was the popular TV and radio presenter, Nathalie Rose, who was given the task to moderate this televised forum filmed in at the heart of Victoria at the Rendez Vous Restaurant.

With just under two weeks to go for the opening ceremony of the 2012 carnival in Seychelles, the Seychelles Television Network recorded the television forum just over the spot where the official opening ceremony of the carnival is set to take place on March 2.

It was Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Jimmy Savy, the contracted personality for organizing the carnival events in Victoria, who represented the 2012 “Carnaval International de Victoria” at the forum, which was also attended by representatives of the police, land transport, parks & gardens landscape management, and the public utility authority.

The forum, which is aimed at updating Seychelles on the final details of the 2012 carnival, took comments from the public through a Vox Pop street interview of the man on the road and was followed by discussions by the forum panel.

The carnival procession route, the international delegations flying to Seychelles, and the Seychelles participations were all discussed, as well as the expected traffic issues in Victoria on the three days of the carnival.

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, the organizers of the island’s carnival, said that he was pleased that the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) had taken the initiative to organize the televised forum. “The Seychelles population at large needed to be well briefed on what was coming to Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, on March 2. The SBC is showing its social responsibility in ensuring that the country as a whole is adequately updated. It was also an opportunity to show that every main government agency was involved in the planning of the coming carnival and that everyone had been working together to make the coming carnival the success it deserves to be,” said Alain St.Ange.
