The recent promotional drive by Seychelles in the neighboring island of La Reunion was to reconfirm the participation of the island in the carnival of carnivals” that is held in the Seychelles annually in the month of March.

Both La Reunion and the Seychelles are members of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Group alongside Mauritius, Madagascar, Mayotte, and Comoros, but it was only the two islands who had agreed to work together in promoting the Vanilla islands concept through the carnival of carnivals in the Seychelles.

The Seychelles delegation, headed by Minister Joel Morgan, the Minister responsible for Home Affairs, the Environment &Transport, was comprised of Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Sharen Venus & Juliette Albert from the Tourism Board’s Marketing Department. They held industry meetings and had a thank you evening for all the Seychelles trade partners in La Reunion.

The La Reunion press covered the event and supported the drive by Seychelles and La Reunion to work together as sister islands.
