Vivianne Martins, President and Founder of ABGEV, joins ACTE Board of Directors
SAO PAULO, Brazil – Vivianne Martins, president and founder of Associação Brasileira de Gestores de Eventos e Viagens Corporativas (ABGEV), the Brazilian Business and Events Travel Association, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE). Vivianne’s appointment as a Strategic Board member is for a one-year term.
ACTE President Suzanne Neufang made the announcement today at the Latin American Corporate Travel Experience (LACTE) in Sao Paulo. Neufang said, “Vivianne Martins possesses the essential qualities needed to serve on the ACTE Board. Her entrepreneurship and leadership in the business travel sector, particularly in the Latin and South American regions, has led to significant developments within our industry. She is a welcome addition to ACTE in 2012.”
Martins founded ABGEV in 2003 after a diverse career in the global travel industry. She has spent more than 30 years committed to the professionalism of the Latin America region travel sector. Martins places a strong emphasis on developing lasting relationships with all players in the corporate travel market. She is an active participant in events and debates, and is known for her strong and solid positioning.
Prior to founding ABGEV, Martins spent 17 years with the Bayer group South America as Marketing Services, Travel, and Events Manager. Her achievements include the GBTA’s Presidents Award, which she received in 2006. In 2010, her book, Viagens Corporativas, was published as the first book devoted exclusively to business travelers in the region. Martins holds a degree in Business Administration, and an MBA in Marketing from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Today, she’s director of Academia de Viagens Corporativas in São Paulo.
Commenting on her new position, Martins said, “I look forward to using my knowledge and experiences in this industry to create opportunities for ACTE. This business is constantly changing as new technologies emerge. In working with ACTE, I hope to make the most of these innovations.”
