Seychelles is maintaining its visibility across the world through many of its niche assets. Recently, it is the food of the tropical islands of the Seychelles that has brought them to the world. It is through gillypickup.co.uk that this aspect of Seychelles made it in Qatar Airways’ in-flight magazine.

“Seychelles food incorporates French, Chinese, Indian, and African influences, with seafood dishes featuring prominently on menus. For a touch of local color these restaurants in or near the capital, Victoria, are worth visiting while sightseeing or shopping,” Qatar Airways’ in-flight magazine spells out.

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, reacted positively when he was informed by gillypickup.co.uk that this article had been published and that it was carried on all Qatar Airways flights. “Seychelles has many niche attractions. Our people and its culture, inclusive of our food, is one of our niche attractions. The diversity of our people makes us rich in culture and tradition, and we are happy to see that Qatar Airways has taken this unique asset and featured it in their in-flight magazine,” said Alain St.Ange.

The mid-ocean islands of the Seychelles depend on tourism as their main industry. The Seychelles government often refers to tourism as the pillar of their economy, which is why they do all that is possible to not only safeguard their industry, but also to consolidate it for the future.

Seychelles is set to continue in its conservation approach of its territory and remains a leader in that field. To date, they have set aside over 50 percent of their total land area as protected national parks.
