SYDNEY, Australia (eTN) - Air Pacific has announced in a press release that it will increase its fares from Australia to Fiji by approximately five per cent for tickets issued from June 11, 2008.

Air Pacific’s managing director/CEO John Campbell said that although the airline has effective internal cost management and some fuel hedging, it will come as no surprise that Air Pacific can no longer sustain current fare levels with the price of fuel reaching record highs.

“Whilst the general fare increases will result in travelers paying slightly more for their journey, Air Pacific has overhauled its fare structure to allow more flexibility for those who need it, created discounted Business Class levels for those who want more room and luxury and increased the discount for children traveling with the family. Additionally, we continue to provide great value fares through our website – where the fare increases are as little as two percent,” he said.

Key highlights of the revised Bula Fares include:
• Children’s fares see a decrease from 80 percent of the adult fare to 75 percent of the adult fare.
• All Airfares are combinable which means travelers can fly in one direction on a certain fare type and the other direction on another fare type – even at the most discounted levels.
• The Bula Plus fares allow unlimited changes without change fees.
• A new spot special fare, the “Get Packing” fare, is introduced for sale only on the Air Pacific website (www.airpacific.com).
• A new discounted business class fare, the “Biz Saver” is introduced saving up to a 25 percent on the full business class fare - providing further encouragement for travelers to experience luxury Fiji from the moment they start their holiday

Air Pacific, Fiji’s international airline, operates 22 services weekly services from the Australian cities of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Fiji as well as convenient domestic connections from various Australian cities flying Qantas.
