MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine government is optimistic that with the new tourism campaign slogan, the country could achieve its target 10 million foreign tourist visitors by the end of President Benigno Aquino III’s term in 2016, presidential spokesperson said today.

“It’s more fun in the Philippines,” Manila’s new brand campaign to attract visitors, was just first part of the campaign of the government, Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said at today’s briefing.

He said that Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez was “very-very confident (that the) 10 million tourists by 2016” could be achieved.

Contrary to some observations that the Philippines’ campaign slogan was not catchy, Lacierda said, “it’s trending worldwide right now on social media.”
