New beauty queen from Seychelles to be crowned this summer
The romantic and dream islands of the Seychelles are known for their beauty and for their white sandy beaches with its clear and warm clean turquoise blue seas that continuously lap them.
With their year-round summer climate, these mid-ocean islands spring to mind whenever the word holiday is mentioned. This is why tourism has and remains to be the pillar of the Seychelles economy.
The Seychelles Tourism Board is the government agency mandated to spearhead this industry and the island’s President, Mr. James Michel, personally holds the portfolio for tourism in his government. President Michel took over the tourism portfolio when he wanted to launch a new vision for the island’s tourism industry some two years ago.
Alain St.Ange is the CEO of the island’s Tourism Board, and part of his responsibilities is to oversee the Celebrate Seychelles Events Department, which is headed by Marymonde Matatiken, the department which also organizes the 2012 Miss Seychelles Pageant. The Celebrate Seychelles Events Department is more known as the main organizers of the Carnival International de Victoria, which is held annually in early March in the Seychelles as a Vanilla Islands event co-organized by Seychelles and La Reunion Islands.
On July 28, Seychelles will be hosting its Miss Seychelles Beauty Pageant, which will bring to the attention of the world, a new beauty queen from the islands also known for composition of its population as the melting pot of cultures.
The diversity of the Seychelles population has brought out a unique blend of people. This is the reason why many were happy to hear the news that the Beauty Pageant will once again be held in the Seychelles, and many are waiting with eagerness the election of the 2012 Miss Seychelles, who is then set to participate at the Miss World pageant among other country pageant winners.
