United Airlines announces daily service from Washington to Doha, Qatar

CHICAGO, Ill. - United Continental Holdings, Inc. today announced that United Airlines will launch daily service between its Washington/Dulles hub and Doha, Qatar, via Dubai, effective May 1, 2012, subject to government approval.

Doha will be the fourth city in the Gulf region that United serves from Washington/Dulles, in addition to Dubai, Kuwait City and Bahrain. The airline serves more destinations in the Gulf region and Middle East than any other U.S. carrier.

"This new service will improve travel options for our customers at both ends of the route," said Andrew Buchanan, United's director of international planning. "The Doha flights are timed to provide convenient connections to and from destinations across North America."

United will operate the new service with Boeing 777 aircraft, with a total of 269 seats – eight in United First, 40 in United Business and 221 in United Economy, including 104 Economy Plus seats with added legroom.

The flights will feature United's International Premium Travel Experience offering customers in United First and United Business flat-bed seats, more than 150 hours of on-demand entertainment on 15.4-inch personal monitors and world-class cuisine with United's exclusive menu options.
