Centara Hotels and Resorts announces new GM at Grand West Sands Resort and Villa Phuket
Mr. Gerd Steeb, President of Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Mr. Andreas Korf as General Manager of Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villa Phuket, with effect from December 1, 2011.
Mr. Korf, who is a German national, has many years of experience in hotel management in various countries, including Germany, the USA, Switzerland, England, and China. In 2008, he started his career with Centara Hotels & Resorts in the position of Resident Manager at Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok. He was then promoted to General Manager of Centara Karon Resort Phuket, the position he held until his appointment as General Manager of Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villa Phuket.
Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas Phuket is set in 47 acres (121 rai) of lush tropical landscaping, bordering on 500 meters of pristine beach frontage on Mai Khao Beach, the longest and quietest stretch of sand on Phuket’s magnificent west coast. The resort has a waterpark with 12 waterslides, including a huge superbowl slide, and a 335-meter lazy river. A second phase is to be completed in October next year, and a third phase in October 2013, which will take the total number of accommodation units to 784. Dining and bar facilities include a beachside BBQ and a Thai restaurant, while leisure facilities include a Spa Cenvaree, fitness center, tennis court, and a kids’ club.
