Emirates emergency landing at Hyderabad
Emirates A380 superjumbo makes emergency landing
DUBAI — An Emirates jet made an emergency landing at Hyderabad. The plane flying from Bangkok to Dubai landed safely at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport early Sunday. All 410 passengers on board the A380 superjumbo were safe and had been ferried to their destination in batches.
In a statement, an airline spokesperson said: “Emirates can confirm flight EK 385 and A380 aircraft from Bangkok to Dubai was diverted to Hyderabad international airport today at 0345 hours due to a technical snag in the aircraft.’’
The airline said the 410 passengers were disembarked safely. ‘‘205 passengers departed on EK 527, a Boeing 777 aircraft at 10.20 local hours.’’
It said a relief aircraft, EK 8385 had been deployed on the Hyderabad-Dubai route to ferry the remaining 205 passengers at 11.30 hours.
Indian news agency IANS earlier reported the aircraft first approached the Chennai airport but did not get clearance for landing as the runway was busy. ‘‘The pilot then contacted Air Traffic Control at Shamshabad and got the clearance to land,’’ the IANS report said.
Emirates operates A380s to 15 destinations across the world. It is scheduled to launch A380 services on the Dubai-Munich route from November 25; to Rome from December 1 and to Kuala Lumpur from January next year.
The A380 was unveiled in 2005 and has so far seen no fatal incidents.
Last November, Australian carrier Qantas grounded its entire fleet of six A380s after an engine blowout on one of its planes over Indonesia. In early 2010, another superjumbo operated by Qantas burst two tyres when landing in Sydney. In September 2009 an A380 was forced to return to Paris due to a technical problem.
Air France, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, China Southern Airlines and Lufthansa are the only carriers flying the massive aircraft.

I can tell you that I was present on the plane that day ... because I think that day will remain etched in the memory of all passengers present and who knew what it was really what happened the day at 2 morning. We were side wing, we felt the plane gradually lose altitude we did not know why. During 1:30: hostesses and purser flapping, it is certainly arouses curiosity when one feels the parallel plane lost altitude and we had no power as if the aircraft was hovering ... Every 2 minutes Commander passes them a call, the two hostesses stood facing one another, you could see their faces gradually decompose. 4 times I asked what was going on no answer and their stress was palpable. One of them has put his hands to his face, I knew there was much more serious than a simple power outage. An Englishman located near the doors has been asked to open the side door to try to ditch in the meantime there is still no information, suddenly the captain speaks to us through the intercom in several languages and we said that following an electrical problem we will land on the water. (There I said that the successful landing and death without which there are very few) so psychologically we are preparing for the worst. Then 1 minutes after the announcement the commander we address a second message: We will try to land in emergency after the refusal of the international airport in India to another airport in Hyderabad (India always). After 50 minutes (the longest of our lives) or the aircraft hovered literally because really there was more power commander says he will perform the landing maneuver, but not necessarily the reactors. Fortunately the track was very long in this small airport with desert dunes of sight. We were alive! 1:30 stuck on the plane without being able to come off even if I wanted to repay my return ticket to leave the aircraft as soon as I knew that we were not told the whole truth. The hostess told us that so they would see if they could take back that plane, but obviously after that the plane could not leave. So we say that Emirates will réafretter a plane from Dubai. Following the ordeal begins: the hostess with a French reassure us by telling us that all staff would be present at the output of the aircraft, so we go out after half past one we arrived at the airport of Hyderabad and The most anyone Emirates!! We waited 7 or 8 pm before taking out another aircraft (other before we could leave for some reason?) And we are assured to be a priority on the flight from Dubai to 15h a little reassured. We arrive in Dubai the staff still on board our aircraft we still waited for hours to arrive at 2:30 p.m. before a steward at the time of taking us say that there is more room in the aircraft and we Dubai has remain a day longer. And you could see other people from our eyes .... When it happens to you that you have only one desire is to go home. So finally we leave the next morning with still 1:30 behind in Paris and always without supervision or explanation. Ditto In Paris we were dropped as if nothing had happened and to top it all we had to repay our train tickets because as of yesterday could not be traded ... Thank Emirates. And of course he will not tell the media or the passengers because the exact causes too much money at stake to change history.
I want other people present that day shows.
