Oct 10, 2011

DUBLIN, Ireland - B&B Ireland have launched an exciting new initiative in which their Bed and Breakfasts are categorised into 9 specialist services provided by the B&B owners. The B&B Ireland categories are as follows: Eco Friendly, Pets Welcome, Golfers Welcome, Food Lovers Welcome, Gaeltacht Experience, Farmstays Welcome, Adventure Seekers Welcome and Anglers Welcome. With over 40 years experience in promoting Tourist Board Approved B&B's nationwide, B&B Ireland are at the forefront of the new vision for the future of Irish Bed and Breakfasts.

According to B&B Ireland, the goal of categorisation of Irish Bed and Breakfasts is to provide visitors to Ireland with a unique holiday package incorporating the traditional B&B experience with a specialist service according to the category of the B&B. Categorisation of B&B's adds many dimensions to a guest's experience of Ireland and a combination of great B&B locations, the B&B owner's expert advice and local knowledge and the comfort of the Bed and Breakfast ensure that the guest leaves Ireland with very special memories.

So how does a B&B become categorised? This is a voluntary scheme and is open to all Tourist Board approved Bed and Breakfasts in Ireland. The criteria for categorisation are based on extensive research into the needs of visitors to Ireland who wish to pursue a particular activity such as walking or golf. B&B owners are assessed and their homes are inspected by the TSA (Tourism Standards Assessments).
