The five-star Corinthia Hotel Lisbon, recently awarded the Travel Weekly 2011 Gold Magellan Award for its outstanding business and conference services in the Hotel/Resort Category, has re-launched the highly successful “Meet for Free” business promotion, which offers completely free meeting space for groups of 10 rooms or more, booked by January 31, 2012.

Besides a daily theater-style meeting room, the well-priced “Meet for Free” delegate package also includes single accommodation with buffet breakfast, free in-room Internet, buffet lunch with 2 soft drinks, and 2 coffee breaks. On top of this, groups of 25 or more paying guests receive 1 free standard room and one upgrade to an executive floor, while the meeting organizer is supplied with a pre-programmed mobile phone and free local calls, use of an office for private meetings and a complimentary upgrade to a special “Five Senses” room.

“Meet for Free” is backed by Corinthiaโ€™s award-winning program, “Events at Corinthia.” This value-added product comprises a variety of facilities and services that assist organizers to plan and hold successful and stress-free events, including a dedicated personal assistant assigned to every conference organizer.

Roderick Micallef, the General Manager of Corinthia Hotel Lisbon, said: โ€œThe โ€˜Meet for Freeโ€™ concept, which we successfully launched in September 2009, provides meeting and event planners with the best value for money, while optimizing quality and content. The initiative has received a tremendous response as we support our customers in this very important sector of our business.โ€ He added: โ€œIn addition to the great value in our hotelโ€™s โ€˜Meet for Freeโ€™ package, Lisbon itself is very attractive to the American market, because it offers great value for the US dollar as compared to other European cities. Lisbon is one of the most diverse European capitals, offering a taste of Europe so close of home.โ€

Colleen McCollum, Vice President, Carino Hotels & Resorts, a New York-based company that specializes in the corporate and MICE market, confirmed the challenge of todayโ€™s meeting planners as โ€œfinding destinations exciting enough to attract large number of delegates, while at the same time are cost effective without compromising on the quality of services.โ€ She added: โ€œWe have always had excellent feedback and client satisfaction with all the meetings we have placed at the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon. The pharmaceutical, financial, and technology industries have especially found the value that the destination has to offer. Now with the relaunch of the โ€˜Meet for Freeโ€™ promotion, we can continue to reach out to many of our corporate clients who are to hold international meetings this year.โ€

The luxurious Corinthia Hotel Lisbon is located in the heart of the financial district, a short distance from the historic city center, as well as the Lisbon International Airport. The modern, stylish hotel offers stunning views of the 18th century Aqueduct and beautiful Monsanto Natural Park. The hotel is owned by Malta-based International Hotel Investments (IHI) and operated by CHI Hotels & Resorts, a joint venture between IHI and the Wyndham Hotel Group.
