Japanese tourist falls off trolley, dies in Honolulu hospital

HONOLULU — A tourist is in critical condition in Honolulu hospital, after falling off a trolley and being hit by a car near Ala Moana Shopping Center.

According to AP, the accident happened on Monday afternoon near Hawaii’s largest mall.

58-year-old man was standing in the trolley and not holding on to anything. Investigators say he fell when the trolley turned.

After being treated by paramedics at the scene the injured visitor was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center.

LATEST UPDATE: Japanese tourist who fell off a trolley near Ala Moana shopping center died in Honolulu hospital. He was pronounced dead late Monday. His name was not released, pending notification of family members. Honolulu police spokeswoman Caroline Sluyter said that the tourist died from injuries sustained from falling, but was not hit by a car.
