TAIPEI, Taiwan - The state-run Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC) has forged cooperation ties with a local travel agency Friday, officially stepping into the tourism business.

AIDC, an aircraft manufacturer and developer, signed a deal with the Flying Master Travel Service Co. to launch chartered flight services.

The company will provide seven-seat business jets to fly clients on the travel agency's three package tours.

They include a "travel around Formosa in two hours" program and a tour package that involves traveling between Kinmen and Xiamen.

The third package is designed to take passengers to Japan's Ishigaki Island for a premium vacation tour.

The business jet can also be for rent, with the price ranging from NT$100,000 (US$3,458.4) to NT$700,000, according to AIDC.
