Zanzibar and Seychelles join tourism efforts

Minister Jihad Abdillah Hassan, the Zanzibar Tanzania Minister responsible for Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports, and Mr.

Minister Jihad Abdillah Hassan, the Zanzibar Tanzania Minister responsible for Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Ali Khalil Mirza, his Director General of the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, met at a working breakfast with Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Mrs. Maryvonne Pool, the Seychelles Consul & Tourism Ambassador in Tanzania, when Mr. St.Ange was in Dar Es Salaam last week for a working visit.

The breakfast meeting followed the Seychelles evening in Dar Es Salaam when Alain St.Ange had been invited to address the diplomats accredited to Tanzania, the press, and the travel trade in the presence of Minister Jihad Abdillah Hassan, Zanzibar Tanzania’s Minister Responsible for Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports.

At that breakfast meeting, it was agreed that the Seychelles will be assisting the island of Zanzibar through a working visit by Mr. Flavien Joubert, the Head of the Seychelles Tourism Academy, and by Ms. Nathali Pillay, the Head of the e-Marketing Department at the Seychelles Tourism Board. The aim of this visit is to exchange ideas and to share, on the one hand, the successes of Seychelles in training for the future in order for Seychelles to claim back its tourism industry and on the other hand, to showcase the drive by Seychelles in the field of e-Marketing.

“Seychelles is today seen as a leader in the field of tourism. We know that we depend on that key industry and as such we have no room for mediocrity. We have to succeed and in so doing ensure the pillar of our economy remains solid and on a good footing. Our neighbors are today ready to meet and share experiences. We, in Seychelles, believe in this cross-border cooperation because this helps to strenghten our region as a whole. A similar exchange took place recently when Eileen Hoareau, the Head Grephics Designer at the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Nathali Pillay of our e-Marketing, spent a week in La Reunion [to] prepare material for joint actions between La Reunion and the Seychelles,” said Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
