Air Seychelles has appointed eight Seychellois departmental deputy directors as part of its succession planning scheme and development process so as to ensure a more efficient management performance throughout all departments of the national airline.

The deputy director scheme is also being seen among other objectives as executive replacement planning, on-going leadership staffing, and widespread sourcing and development of talent and skills in strategic areas that require broad organizational involvement.

A Deputy Director will deputize during the absence of a Director and will be allocated special tasks such as staff welfare, analysis of budget performance, coordination of regular reports, organization of departmental management meetings, as well as other technical and operational work.

To date, Air Seychelles has eight departmental directors who form part of its Level One management team and head of departments. He explained that the deputy director scheme leads to multi-layer leadership, organizational performance, and competency development, and at the same time have a strategic development of talent and skills with the transfer of knowledge required for an evolving management style.
