TAT launches online campaign titled “Amazing 10 days in Thailand”

BANGKOK, Thailand — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) today announced the results of the survey conducted from travelers all over the world to find out the “100 Most Amazing Places in Thailand” and also launched the online campaign titled “Amazing 10 Days in Thailand.” The winner will receive a free 10-day trip to Thailand for 2 persons. These 2 activities come under the national campaign called “Amazing Thailand Always Amazes You” via online channels, aimed to create awareness and inspire travelers from all over the world to visit Thailand.

This marketing campaign consists of 2 main activities: the online survey “Your Amazing Places in Thailand that Always Amaze You” and “Amazing 10 Days in Thailand” competition.

The “100 Amazing Places in Thailand” campaign is an online survey conducted from 3,389 travelers from 68 countries around the world who have visited Thailand. Conducting the survey from February to April 2011, the result is now ready for public announcement on www.amazing10daysinthailand.com .

Mr. Prakit Piriyakiet, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Tourism Authority of Thailand, said: “On behalf of The Tourism Authority of Thailand, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all travelers who participated in this survey. The results will help us identify the key issues for planning strategic promotional and PR campaigns.”

The second activity, the “Amazing 10 Days in Thailand” campaign, will be launched this month. Focusing on an interactive e-card activity, participating in this campaign is very easy and fun. The idea is to invite travelers’ friends to Thailand by sending an e-card invitation to as many of them as they can. Once they click “Accept” on the invitation, the participant will receive 1 point. The participant who receives the highest points will win the contest, and can then choose one of their accepted friends to enjoy this memorable experience together.

Valued at approximately US$13,000, the rewarding experience for the winner and his or her friend is completed with US$3,000 cash for the winner, a luxurious 10-night stay in Thailand’s most popular destinations for 2 persons, full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) totaling 30 meals each, and round-trip international air tickets from their home country.

In addition, the first runner-up will receive a 7-day dream trip to Thailand with one of his or her accepted friends, including US3,500 worth of a luxurious 7-night stay in Thailand’s popular destinations for 2 persons, and the second runner-up will receive a 5-day dream trip in Thailand with one of his or her accepted friends, including US1,500 worth of a luxurious 5-night stay in Thailand’s popular destinations for 2 persons.

Interested travelers can participate in this campaign from today until August 31, 2011. The winners will be announced on September 2, 2011 via the website www.amazing10daysinthailand.com .

Mr. Prakit Piriyakiet added: “In order to achieve maximum impact, the TAT plans to publicize this campaign through various online channels, e.g., web banners, email campaigns, e-news releases, photo websites, and social networking. With these 2 online campaigns, TAT expects to increase the awareness for the “Amazing Thailand Always Amazes You” campaign via online channels with approximately 15 million views and to build up the country’s strong brand and positioning as a destination that offers tremendous value-for-money, a unique culture, and a wide variety of experiences to visitors, which has resulted in making the kingdom a truly exceptional destination and differentiating it from other countries, as well as providing confidence in traveling to Thailand for their holidays and business meetings.”
