Czech Airlines launches Abu Dhabi service

Abu Dhabi Airports Company announced today the launch of Czech Airlines flights, the flag carrier of the Czech Republic, to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company announced today the launch of Czech Airlines flights, the flag carrier of the Czech Republic, to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The new airline will start operations on 21st September this year with 4 non-stop weekly flights connecting the Capital to the city of Prague. The new route will initially be operating four weekly return flights departing from Abu Dhabi every Monday and Thursday at 09:50, local time (LT), to arrive in Prague at 14:15, and every Sunday and Wednesday at 01:35 LT, to arrive in Prague at 06:00 LT, using Airbus A319 aircraft. The new route will bring the number of destinations served at the Emirateโ€™s airport to over 80 destinations in more than 45 countries around the world.

The new service, which will operate on a codeshare agreement with the UAEโ€™s flag carrier, Etihad Airways, will offer passengers a new destination from Abu Dhabi International Airport along with a variety of new travel options and connections via Prague to Central and Eastern Europe.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James E. Bennett stated: โ€œADAC is pleased to welcome Czech Airlines into Abu Dhabi International Airport airlinesโ€™ portfolio. We applaud this partnership between Etihad Airways and Czech Airlines as it paves the way for further development, improving the offer of choice and convenience to our clients, not only to Europe, but to our whole network.โ€

Miroslav Dvoล™รกk, President of Czech Airlines, stated: โ€œThanks to the perfect harmonisation of departure and arrival times at Abu Dhabi, destinations in the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Asia and Australia have never been as accessible from Prague as they are now. Both airlines will start selling tickets on 24 June 2011.
