American Airlines celebrates new non-stop service to Budapest

Jun 14, 2011

The Hungarian National Tourist Board co-hosted a media event with American Airlines and Budapest Airport Zrt to celebrate the launch of American Airlines’ non-stop service from New York (JFK) to Budapest.

At the event, Vivian Fancher, Editor of CEO Traveler, won a trip for two to Budapest, including a four-night stay at the luxurious five-star Corinthia Hotel Budapest and two American Airlines tickets. The event took place at the Consulate of Hungary in New York.

The Corinthia Hotel Budapest, also known affectionately by its historic name, the ‘Grand Hotel Royal,’ is a city landmark. The Hotel’s neo-classical façade, adorned with statues, columns and cupolas, has graced Budapest's fashionable thoroughfare, Erzsébet Avenue, for well over a century.

The Hotel is owned by Malta-based International Hotel Investments (IHI) and operated by CHI Hotels & Resorts. It was reopened in 2002, having been faithfully restored to its former glory as Budapest’s leading luxury hotel, featuring a magnificent ballroom and the most extensive conference facilities in the city. With its lavish lobby, superb accommodation, a renovated 19th century spa a various fine-dining options, it once more takes center stage, not only in this elegant imperial yet thoroughly modern city, but also among hotels throughout Europe.

Since its re-opening, Corinthia Hotel Budapest has received numerous awards and accolades for its architecture, cuisine and world class service. In 2010, Corinthia Hotel Budapest was voted as one of the top 25 hotels in Europe by TripAdvisor users, the only hotel in Hungary to make the list.
