German singer and actor marries in Seychelles

The well-known and popular German entertainer and actor of Cuban descent, Roberto Blanco who is 73 years of age, visited the tropical Creole islands of Seychelles in April to formalize his commitment to his young Cuban bride, Luzandra Strassburg, 33 years of age.

The happy couple were joined by nearly 40 guests for a sundowner trip aboard the Sea Pearl to Thérèse Island and a cruise through the Sainte Anne Marine National Park. In the presence of several of his closest friends and a Seychelles priest, Roberto Blanco exchanged vows with his wife-to-be Ms. Strassburg at the Constance Ephelia Resort in Port Launay on April 9, 2011.

Also present at the wedding ceremony were Mr. Blanco’s lawyer, Dr. Micheal Scheele, and his Seychellois wife Lindy, who is the Seychelles Tourism Ambassador in Munich, Germany, who was responsible for organizing the entire trip for the couple in close collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board office in Germany.

Following the beautiful ceremony, guests were invited to a private dinner, followed the next day by a “honeymoon picnic.” It is to be noted that this is not the first time that Seychelles has welcomed Mr. Blanco to its shores. The singer has visited the islands before on account of his participation in the “Race to Seychelles” – a golf tournament played by the “Bogey Golfers” of Munich, which is a private initiative of approximately 70 amateur players with Dr. Scheele serving as president of the club.

While the first two rounds of the “Race to Seychelles” tournament were played in Germany last year, the final round was held here at the Constance Lemuria on Praslin, where the winner was actor Christian Kohlund.

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, was represented by his Deputy, Elsia Grandcourt, at the ceremony and he said that such glamorous weddings and honeymoons in Seychelles continues to make thei mid-ocean island’s the dream destination for the holiday of a life time.
