Seychelles nationals promoted at Emirates

Emirates is offering more and more opportunities to local Seychelles talents. New appointments at the Seychelles office and a forthcoming campaign aiming at recruiting more Seychellois for its award-wining cabin crew team demonstrate the Dubai-based airline’s wish to be an active economic player in the archipelago.

Emirates has announced two new appointments at the Seychelles office. Denise Rassool, previously Customer Sales and Service Officer, is now the Sales Manager, and Lisa Chetty, who was Finance and Administration Officer, is now Finance and Administration Manager. Denise Rassool and Lisa Chetty started their career with the airline in 2004 and 2007, respectively.

A cabin crew recruitment campaign will be held on June 11, 2011 at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort and Casino, in Mahé. The “Open Day” will start at 9:00 am and will be conducted by officials from the airline’s Dubai headquarters. Successful candidates will then proceed for interviews.

The Seychelles recruits, like all Emirates’ cabin crew, will be based in Dubai, a modern cosmopolitan city offering one of the most desirable lifestyles in the world. Over and above an attractive tax-free salary, the airline provides new recruits with luxury shared accommodation, equipped with facilities such as gyms and air-conditioning. Emirates also offer a benefits package, along with professional development opportunities.

Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates Manager for Seychelles and the Indian Ocean Islands, stated: “Empowering and recognizing local talents is important to us. The Emirates cabin crew occupy a special place in the Emirates family, often acting as the ambassadors for the company at their base in Dubai and while on duty overseas.

Emirates employs 55 Seychelles nationals across its network, including 31 cabin crew and Boeing 777 captains. The airline has announced a 100% increase in frequency between Dubai and the Seychelles. This route will be serviced by 14 flights every week, by the end of the year.
