Barbados conference cancelled due to low registration numbers
Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association cancels conference
The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) sent the word out on Monday that the much-anticipated Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Conference (CHTC), previously slated for June 1-3 in Barbados, has been cancelled because registration numbers have been way too low.
In a membership advisory CHTA announced that “it is with regret that we announce the cancellation of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Conference (CHTC) scheduled for June 1st – 3rd in Barbados.”
The brief note went on to say that “with less than two weeks out the registration numbers were deemed too low to have resulted in a conference with the substance and character we had envisioned.”
The note also says that “continuing with CHTC would have resulted in disappointment and lack of value for those that had paid to attend, and an unsatisfactory audience for the high quality speakers we had committed to deliver the program.”
However, plans for the Shared Ownership Investment Conference is still scheduled for May 31 - June 1 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Center in Barbados.
