Commitment To Providing Responsible Accommodation

Upscale Bali resort receives sustainability certification

May 10, 2011

LOS ANGELES, California - Anantara Seminyak’s commitment to achieving certification has led to the sustainability criteria being embraced as the way they do business. Green Globe certification validated the process of engaging the resort’s team members and gaining their "buy-in" to sustainable operations and management.

In April 2011, Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa, one of Bali's most upscale enclaves, achieved Green Globe certification. The certification recognizes their commitment to conduct business in a more sustainable and responsible manner.

Ivan Casadevall, General Manager from Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa, said" "Ongoing environmental and sustainability training for all of our resort associates continuously strengthens our green, social, and cultural initiatives, and we look forward to developing our heartfelt commitment and sincere sense of responsibility to our beautiful island."

Green Globe Auditor Irene Millar from Eco Leadership noted that throughout the certification process, the level of interest among Anantara staff demonstrated that sustainability has become part of the decision-making process throughout the organization.

Irene said, "In general, there is a strong feeling of a sense of pride in belonging to a company which champions 'doing the right thing' and that engages and works with the local community, Banjar - the local community leadership council."

Achieving certification requires Anantara Seminyak to commit to improving their sustainability practices by at least 3% year-on-year in accordance to the Green Globe Standard. While celebrating their success this year, they are fully aware that there are more opportunities for improvement in operating sustainably in an ever changing global climate.

Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa offers a distinctly contemporary design approach blended with Balinese and Indonesian culture, ocean views, expansive balconies, and Anantara’s inimitable Jacuzzi terrazzo bath tubs big enough for two.
