Speakers for Green Globe World Summit announced

LOS ANGELES, California – On May 27-29, 2011, Green Globe Certification will hold its 3rd annual World Summit in Paris. Experts in the field have been signed on to speak at this important summit addressing sustainable travel and tourism.

Professor Geoffrey Lipman will deliver the keynote speech, “Travelism – Powering Green Growth.” Professor Lipman is one of the world’s leading thinkers in sustainable tourism. He is currently Director of greenearth.travel and MD of “beyond tourism.” He is Advisor to the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO); and Advisor to the World Economic Forum and Vice Chair of its Global Agenda Council (Aviation, Travel & Tourism). Professor Lipman will present his insights on “travelism,” which he defines as the incredible power of the immense travel and tourism value chain to be a positive green growth change agent.

Philippe Franรงois is the Director General and Chairman of Franรงois-Tourisme-Consultants and ECORISMO. Mr. Franรงois is a graduate from the Strasbourg Hotel School, holder of a Master’s in Planning and Management of Tourist Resorts, and former hotelier and restaurateur. Mr. Franรงois will use his two decades of experience delivering professional sustainability services to outline the achievements of tourism businesses in France who are making a difference. In 1994, Mr. Franรงois created the tourism consulting and training firm, Franรงois-Tourism-Consultants, and is renowned in France and internationally as an expert in tourism, hospitality, and catering. He is also a director and active member of many national and international tourism and hospitality industries, including AMFORTH (International Association for Hospitality and Tourism Training), which he is President of, with appointment to 2014.

Ewald K. Biemans is owner and CEO of Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites & Spa, Aruba, which are among Green Globe’s highest-rated certified businesses.
