When I get to Heaven, make sure it is just like the Seychelles
"Dear God, Please make sure that when I get to Heaven, it is just like the Seychelles," said a letter posted on Seychelles' Facebook.
The social network Facebook has many daily messages from a range of different interests, but last week, a visitor to the Seychelles posted this message, which has attracted many comments and captured the interest by so many users.
Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, contacted the person who had posted the "Letter to God" when enjoying her Seychelles holidays to see if the message could be retransmitted as it was unique in a lot of ways.
Mrs. Sherryl Carrilho from Durban in South Africa told the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board that the letter was the result of total satisfaction of her holiday. "Seychelles is everything I ever wanted for a holiday - anywhere else is a compromise," Sherryl said.
South Africa remains an important tourism market for the Seychelles, and finding out the impressions from a bonafide traveler from that important market is always interesting. Mrs. Sherryl Carrilho traveled to the Seychelles in early April this year, and she has visited the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, and Denis Islands.
The Creole islands of the Seychelles are the only mid-ocean granitic islands, and the only group of islands in the Indian Ocean, to offer to their visitors the diversity of islands they have. Seychelles has both the hilly granitic islands with untouched and unique luxurious forests, and also flat coral islands, offering to the diving and fishing enthusiasts an experience of their lives. Seychelles is known to be a very safe destination for visitors and has a weather pattern that has given it the name of the "islands of perpetual summer," because of its position just 4 degrees south of the equator, which ensures it completely misses the destructive cyclonic belt. The island group has remarkable award-winning clean white sandy beaches, clean and clear turquoise blue seas, and offers a different diversity to all their visitors - the diversity or melting pot in a population that makes up the Seychellois nation. This diversity brings about the diversity in Seychelles creole cuisine so appreciated by visitors to the islands.
Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has said that after finding Mrs. Sherryl Carrilho, he realized that he was not only pleased by the message she had posted on Facebook, but that he was touched by the comment that retraced a connotation so often used by authors and press personalities, which states that the Seychelles' Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve of Praslin Island, the Seychelles UNESCO site, as being the Garden of Eden. The Vallee de Mai is the home of the unique and endemic Coco de Mer palm that has seperate male and female trees, and that brings out the world's heaviest double nut with such an evocative shape that it has let the immagination of all those visiting that garden to run wild.
