Seychellois Veronique Francourt Models At Designer Show

Catwalk in Italy proves beneficial for promotion of Seychelles

Apr 12, 2011

Last week Italian designer Michele Miglionico's 2011 spring and summer fashion collection was presented in Rome at the Monti Parioli in the Old Shooting Club. Among the Italian top models was the Seychelles model Veronique Francourt, from the Jj Spirit Foundation, who made a strong impact on the catwalk.

The new collection has drawn volumes and details by the taste of the early 80s, and proposes a new modern luxury in having all the qualities of style, elegance, and femininity of the "romantic woman." Marcello Montalbano, for Company of Beauty, has contributed to hair and makeup looks to achieve the total look desired by the designer.

The exclusivity of the collection is the use of color, through a precise harmony of nuances. In addition to the classic beige and tobacco, ivory, and butter, there are new vibrant colors like orange, yellow, pink geranium, turquoise, and apple green. The day paid homage to classic simplicity. The line is long and thin coats and jackets of cotton and linen materials. The evening was a triumph of romance.

The fashion show was attended by Italian government officials, politicians, and various stylists, including the ambassador of Bulgaria Roxana Mladenov, Seychelles Tourism Ambassador Dorothy Furneau, the Italian consul in Argentina Assunta Saltalamacchia, senators Paola Binetti and Maria Pia Garavaglia, Mrs. Luisa Santolini, lawyer Chiara Gatti, and architect Roberta Valle.

The fashion show was a great promotion for Seychelles and was described as a great success. The organizers have requested that more Seychellois models participate in such international events.
