Emirates’ Indian Ocean Manager Oomar Ramtoola announced promotions of its Seychellois staff at its office located in Seychelles. According to Mr. Ramtoola, Emirates is pleased to be able to promote talented local staff members from within and was happy to confirm the following promotions at Emirates, Seychelles:

Finance & Administration:
Lisa Chetty – Promoted to Finance & Administration Manager with effect from January 1, 2011.

Airport Services:
Franky Hetimier – Promoted from Grade 8 to Grade 9 with effect from April 1, 2011.

Town Office:
Denise Rassool – Promoted to Sales Manager – Seychelles with effect from April 1, 2011.

Emirates operates in the Seychelles with an all Seychellois team, and the recent promotions are seen as a consolidation of the office at the time that the airline is increasing its weekly flight service to the islands from 7 to 14 flights. The airline has been supportive of the Seychelles Tourism Board’s ongoing promotional efforts and it also demonstrated its solidarity with Seychelles when it participated in the recent March Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria” with a float that demonstrated the diversity of its staff and its world-wide network.

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has welcomed the Emirates announcement saying that he appreciated the confidence and respect being placed on the Seychellois Staff. “As I congratulate the three staff concerned, and as I say that they have proved their worth, Emirates should be applauded to be empowering the Seychellois to key positions in their Seychelles Office,” St.Ange said. It must also be noted that Mr. Peter Payet, a son of our Praslin island, is today a Vice President at Emirates, based in Dubai for its inbound tourism operations.
