Vanilla Islands group held breakfast with German tour operators during ITB
Dr. Karl Mootoosamy, the Director of the MTPA (Mauritius); Mr. Pascal Viroleau, Director of the IRT (La Reunion); Mr. Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board (Seychelles); and Mr. Joel Randriamandranto, President of the Tourist Office of Madagascar (Madagascar) met with German tour operators over a working breakfast at the ITB Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin to discuss the Vanilla Islands concept.
German tour operators present at the working breakfast were: TUI, Dertour, Thomas Cook, Meier’s Weltreisen, Trauminsel Reisen, Explorer Fernreisen, Islands4more, reiseAgentur brandner, and Evasion Tours.
A decision was taken to launch a series of actions to move the Vanilla Islands concept forward:
- to plan immediately packages for the Vanilla Islands in collaboration with airlines flying between the islands: Air Mauritius, Air Seychelles, Air Madagascar, Air Austral, Air France et Corsairfly;
- to organize press trips to visit two or three islands of the island group, the Vanilla Islands, during the month of April;
- to organize a Vanilla Islands roadshow in 3 to 4 German cities during the month of May; and
- to develop a web site for the Vanilla Islands, an "Academie," and the setting up of a plan for the ongoing training of travel agents.
German tour operators present at the working breakfast spoke about their support for the Vanilla Islands brand and will be dedicating pages to the Vanilla Islands in their respective brochures.
