VisitBritain launches BritAgent online program
VisitBritain has launched its first-ever online BritAgent specialist program, designed to help agents increase productivity and efficiency when selling and booking travel to Britain.
“BritAgent will help to increase productivity and maximize commissions by arming the travel trade with the product and destination knowledge needed to meet their clients’ needs,” said Lynda Falcone, VisitBritain travel trade executive in Canada.
“With events like the Royal Wedding, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, World Pride and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games coming up in the next 18 months, we’re expecting a huge surge in interest in the UK. We hope that BritAgent will become a great tool to help our travel partners manage this demand.”
The online program consists of several modules – Britain the Basics, Destination Britain, Experience Britain – and is designed to be completed at one’s own pace. The course is CITC accredited and grants agents four credits towards certification. “We encourage all travel trade professionals interested in gaining better knowledge of Britain to complete BritAgent from tour operators to travel agents to reservation staff,” said Falcone. “BritAgent is designed for all travel trade professionals interested in being Britain destination specialists.”
