Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Beach Resort and Casino brings Chinese New Year to Seychelles
Anyone at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Beach Resort & Casino in the Seychelles last Saturday would have enjoyed the outstanding Chinese cultural evening to mark the Chinese New Year.
The resort, known for its ability to cater to large groups, hosted an elegant Chinese gala dinner as part of celebrations locally to mark the Chinese New Year and also to celebrate the strong relations between the Seychelles and China. The event was a sell-out and was a true reunion for the friends of China.
Several government ministers, notably Vincent Meriton, Bernard Shamlaye, Erna Athanasius, and Macsuzy Mondon, as well as top government officials, attended the evening, alongside a delegation from China and the Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles, Wang Weiguo.
The Chinese community in Seychelles was also well represented, bringing the right flair to the event and helping to make it a big success. The evening – held under the theme "An Emperor of the Day" – was organized by the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Beach Resort & Casino in collaboration with the Seychelles Department of Culture and the Chinese Embassy. Guests were treated to a show by the Fujian Art Troupe and also enjoyed a sumptuous Chinese dinner, which included crispy suckling pig and assorted dim sum.
The hotel also introduced a new dish, the Peking duck, with mandarin pancake, plum sauce, spring onion, and cucumber. The resort’s general manager, Ken Choo, presented the Chinese New Year lucky rabbits to Ministers Meriton and Shamlaye and Ambassador Wang.
