Tourism news: Tanzania tourism confederation meets new minister

(eTN) - The apex body of Tanzania’s tourism sector associations, including among them the tour operators association, the hotel association, the air operators association, the travel agents association, and others, met last week in Dar es Salaam with the recently-appointed minister for natural resources and tourism Hon. Ezekiel Maige to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The minister, well acquainted with tourism, as he was deputy minister in the same ministery before the last general elections, was told of the multiple challenges the sector encounters in their daily work, the need to boost spending for marketing the country abroad, and he was also handed a number of requirements from the tourism stakeholders regarding what government ought to do to fully develop the industry in regards to special incentives for the industry.
