Dakar, Senegal – Newly launched regional airline called Senegal Airlines will begin service to neighboring countries in West Africa on January 25.
Senegal Airlines will avoid the mistakes that led to the bankruptcy of Air Senegal International airline and take no chances to flourish, Senegal Airlines Board of Directors chairman, Ibrahima Cheikh Diongue, announced here on Thursday.
“We want to learn from the Air Senegal International bankruptcy, to face up to our challenge, which is to help Senegal Airlines become a model in Africa,” Diongue said at the ceremony organized for the delivery of the first two Airbus A320 aircrafts of the new company.
“With this carrier, whose capital amounts to 16.5 billion CFA francs and which has competitive aircraft, Senegal will reposition itself on the sub-regional air transport market “, he said, adding that Senegal has always been a leader in the air transportation sector on the African continent.
