Somali pirates seized a German freighter Beluga Fortune off the coast of Somalia on Sunday. According to the Bremen-based Beluga Shipping, the owner of the freighter, the ship was on its way from UAE to South Africa, when it was hijacked about 1930km east of the Kenyan port of Mombasa.

Less than 24 hours earlier, the pirates hijacked tanker York 165 kilometers off the coast of Kenya in the Somali Basin. The Singapore-based tanker was on its way from Mombasa, Kenya to the Seychelles, with a cargo of liquefied natural gas.
