According to the Associated Press, the blond striker, who plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid, will be the face of a campaign aimed at boosting tourism, an industry worth more than $1 billion a year to Uruguay.

AP reports that Forlanโ€™s contract will run until the end of the Southern Hemisphere summer, with the player doing a photo shoot and short film in Madrid that will be distributed throughout Latin America.

His monologue will be accompanied by images of the national team in action at the World Cup in South Africa, alongside views of Uruguayโ€™s beaches and countryside.โ€‚
