France, Italy, Spain and Turkey outbreak
EU may issue a legionella blacklist
PATA reports, the European Union (EU) health authorities are not amused by the outbreak of legionella cases. France, Italy, Spain and Turkey are among the European destinations that report a widespread outbreak of the disease, and EU health authorities may resort to a possible black list unless strong measures are scheduled.
The Turkish Ministry has proactively organised meetings with their colleagues and hoteliers, according to a report in TourExpi. The EU Ministry of Health has declared a deadline of end of this year for action to be initiated, failing which these destinations will be considered a serious threat for tourists’ health.
