Greater Marketing Synergy

Air France renews joint agreement with Seychelles Tourism Board

Sep 27, 2010

The Seychelles Tourism Board and French national airline, Air France, have renewed their partnership agreement on September 23 during the IFTM Exhibition–Top RĂ©sa that was held in Paris from September 21-24, 2010. This agreement seeks to bring greater synergies in terms of marketing efforts, whereby Air France will be providing the Seychelles Tourist Offices in Europe with more support and has freely offered a large number of air tickets for the promotional and marketing activities of the destination.

The Seychelles director of marketing for Europe, Bernadette Willemin, who signed the agreement on behalf of Seychelles, has welcomed the support of Air France. She said that Europe has been and remains the main source market for Seychelles, and such a partnership as with Air France, proves indispensable if the country is to further develop and consolidate its share of the European market.

“Our destination will benefit from the European network of Air France thanks to its hub in Roissy Charles de Gaulle,“ said Mrs. Willemin.

Francis Heymonet, director of Air France for the Caribbean Zone and Indian Ocean (COI), who signed the agreement on behalf of the airline, explained at the end of the signing ceremony that the company firmly supports the efforts of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

This joint agreement also strengthens the position of Air France as a partner to the national airline Air Seychelles. The partnership between the two airline companies is very important for future development of the European markets, which has always contributed more than 75 percent of total tourist arrivals to the islands.

It should be noted that the this agreement was first signed last year in Paris by Alain St.Ange, chief executive officer of Seychelles Tourism Board and eTurboNews ambassador, and Francine Heymonet of Air France.

Mr. St.Ange has said that he is satisfied that this agreement is in place today, because it will benefit the Seychelles tourism industry.
