Delta jet makes emergency landing at JFK

Sep 26, 2010

NEW YORK — Landing gear problems caused Delta Connection jet with 60 passengers on board to make an emergency landing at JFK airport in New York City.

According to the Associated Press, Port Authority Spokesman Steve Coleman said Delta Connection Flight 4951, operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines, landed safely at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday. He says there were no reports of injuries or fire.

Atlantic Southeast Airlines spokesman Jarek Beem said all passengers exited safely through the main door onto the tarmac and were bused to the terminal.

He says the airline was working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to investigate the landing gear problem.
