Continental Airlines to move operations to Terminal B at Orlando airport

Sep 21, 2010

HOUSTON - Continental Airlines today announced that it will move its Orlando operations from Terminal A to Terminal B at Orlando International Airport (MCO), beginning Wednesday, Sept. 22. Continental's move will centralize its proximity to fellow Star Alliance members United and US Airways, already located in Terminal B. The ticketing and check-in counter will relocate to Terminal B that day, and Continental's gates at Orlando International will move from Airside 1 to Airside 3 on Thursday, Sept. 23. Continental will occupy Gates 33, 35, 36 and 39 in Airside 3.

Members of Continental's Presidents Club and Star Alliance Gold members will have convenient access to the United Airlines Red Carpet Club located between Gates 42 and 44. Also Thursday, Continental Connection flights to Miami, Pensacola and Tallahassee will begin departing from gate 46A.

"The relocation will enable customers to connect seamlessly at Orlando International Airport between Continental and Continental Connection's 28 daily flights and other Star Alliance carrier flights," said Brian Keene, Continental's Orlando International Airport General Manager. "Continental's move will finalize consolidation of Star Alliance carriers on Airside 3."

Star Alliance airlines offer more than 60 daily departures from Orlando. Continental's move in Orlando follows similar moves at airports in many domestic and international markets, including Denver, Detroit, Houston, Chicago, Frankfurt, Tokyo/Narita, Honolulu, Barcelona and Beijing.
