The annual World Youth & Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) will be hosted in China for the first time next month, reinforcing the growing importance of the Chinese market for the industry. Now in its 19th year, the conference brings together all of the niche markets and diverse organizations that serve today’s young travelers.

This year’s event will be held at the Beijing World Trade Centre from October 17 – 20. The decision to hold the event in China reflects the rapid growth of this country’s tourism industry and its growing prominence as a youth travel destination. Meanwhile the United Nations World Tourism Organization has forecast that 100 million Chinese tourists will have traveled overseas by 2020.

Keynote speaker and celebrated global trends expert Daniel Levine will kick off the Beijing conference by showing delegates how creative companies all over the world are responding in innovative ways to new travel trends among the young.

As the signature business-to-business event for the WYSE Travel Confederation, WYSTC traditionally draws a senior level audience of decision makers and key stakeholders in the dynamic youth sector. The conference regularly receives 800-plus delegates from approximately 450 organizations in more than 80 countries.

The three and half-day conference is designed to create opportunities for professionals to network with fellow decision-makers, take advantage of new market opportunities in the youth travel industry, and learn from industry experts and government policymakers.
