Cruise West closes reservations center, suspends new bookings

SEATTLE — A small Seattle-based cruise line known for its Alaska voyages said it is restructuring with new ownership and has suspended all new bookings and temporarily closed its reservations center.

In a recorded phone message, Cruise West did not identify the new owners.

Company representatives did not immediately return calls or e-mails seeking additional details on Tuesday.

The Cruise West recording said Saturday sailings from Seattle and Portland, Ore., will operate as planned.

In addition to Alaska and British Columbia, the company website lists cruises to destinations that include Europe, Central America and Mexico.
