An American Airlines flight crew member who was removed from a plane at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday afternoon tested negative for alcohol consumption, an airline spokeswoman said today.

Takeoff of Flight 1211 to Cancun, Mexico, originally scheduled for 4:30 p.m., was delayed until 8:52 p.m. because of the incident and bad weather, American Airlines representative Andrea Huguely said.

Huguely confirmed that there was a “personnel issue” on the flight and it remains under investigation.

“We do apologize for the inconvenience that the delay may have caused for our customers,” she said.
