FRANKFURT – The German Airline Association, or BDF, said Monday it is against a tax on kerosene as an alternative to the planned air travel tax, thereby denying a report in German daily Handelsblatt’s Monday issue.

“Such reports are completely unfounded and are incorrect,” BDF Managing Director Michael Engel said.

Handelsblatt had cited unnamed association sources as saying the airline sector would be open to a tax on kerosene if the German government were to forgo its plans for an air travel tax.
