Southwest may add Boeing 737-800 to its fleet
Southwest Airlines announced that it has been evaluating the opportunity to introduce the Boeing 737-800 into its fleet as part of its domestic network.
The airline intends to make a decision about the addition of the 737-800 before the end of 2010.
The decision has not yet been finalised as details regarding configuration, timing and quantity of deliveries are still to be determined.
Discussions with labour unions, assessments of network flow, determination of aircraft configuration, evaluation of scheduling needs and the completion of regulatory work must all be considered by the airline before any decision on the aircraft is taken.
